The blue earth is not blue

Hi,
I have just downloaded Celestia 1.4.1 When it goes to the Earth it is not blue but white with no clouds.

I am running XP. My machine has 480 Mb of RAm and the CPU is Intel Pentium 4 3.00 GHz

Any suggestions?

Thanks

What kind of graphics hardware do you have?
What version of graphics drivers are you using?
Celestia does depend on the system having up-to-date drivers. The current version should be available for free on the Web site of the manufacturer of your graphics hardware, or of the manufacturer of your computer if it uses an embedded chipset.

That symptom usually means that Celestia could not find the surface texture image file for some reason, although that seems unlikely for an initial install.

How do the other planets look?

The surface textures' image files should be in the directory
\Program Files\Celestia\textures\medres
and
\Program Files\Celestia\textures\lores

Are they?

Thanks for the advice

I have played around with drivers and now have the earth in colour but no clouds. Do I need to do more with the drivers.

Any more suggestions?

Make sure you have the clouds turned on in celestia. Toggle them on and off by pressing the "I" key.
