Hi Cartrite,
I do suspect it was the celsplashscreen.h all along  it MIGHT be also a couple of files I downloaded from a post on the forum(chris's Faster, smooth high-precision orbits)I popped in the render.h and render.cpp into my celestia folder to replace the ones I had in there.Oh well we live and learn.

May I ask what sort of problems your're having?

I'm trying to put some images together and the program Image Magik seems to be running amuck. Go to the Celestial Matters forum for details. http://forum.celestialmatters.org/viewt ... c&start=45
Anyhow, you might want to follow this suggestion. I never do a make clean. Never have too. I have a folder called cvs. The celestia folder is inside and thats the folder I always use for cvs updates. Every time I mess with changing files, new builds, etc., I copy the celestia folder from cvs to a work location. That way the original cvs is protected and I'm always starting fresh. When something goes wrong, I start completely over. Eliminates a lot of headaches. 8O
