splash directory not found

Post #1by tarazed » 09.11.2007, 01:11

Hi folks

Have just returned to Celestia after a long absence. Running 1.4.1 on Mandriva 2007. A minor irritation is the error message which comes up on startup; it tells me that there is something wrong with the installation because it cannot find the splash directory. There is a splash directory in /usr/share/celestia and it contains splash.png. There is no reference to it in any configuration file or startup script so I guess it must be hardcoded into celestia itself. Does anybody know how this can be fixed?

Yes, create a link in /usr/share/apps pointing to /usr/share/celestia :

Code: Select all

ln -s /usr/share/celestia /usr/share/apps

Thanks Christophe. There was already an invalid link in
/usr/share/apps voila:

celestia -> ../../../home/mandrake/rpm/tmp/celestia-1.4.1-3mdv2007.0-buildroot/usr/share/celestia

That seems to be an error in the build. It did not happen in earlier
releases of Mandriva.

I followed your suggestion and it worked and now the toolbar and menu
are fully populated.

Merci beaucoup
