One further note: If I have just logged in and then hit the
back button, I will lose all flags for use in locating what I have
read or not read. I haven't noticed flag problems within the
normal usage of Firefox though.

All of this is - AGAIN - just FYI.

Thanks, Bob

Try this, Bob. Once you have started the FF browser and logged in the forum and this latter has the "news" flags, try to close the browser without reading anyone and then re-open it. All flags turns read. It's no matter of cookies at all.
Never at rest.

Fernerit, can you confirm this, log into the site shatters.net not www.shatters.net then the login and posting should be working correctly.

I obtain the same page, that is: the Celestia link and below the Chris Laurel Homepage; not more.

Yes, you are entirely correct... But I don't recall mentioning cookies
as a problem for viewing the read/not read stuff. It's just that the
cookies have to be maintained in order to continue to log in and
out all day without having to log back in all the time. In this case,
the cookies DO play an important role.

That's all I was trying to point out in the posts here.

EDIT: I had a look at my "cookies to be saved" data and I did
notice that there were TWO shatters.net cookies listed there.
One was "shatters.net" and the other was "www.shatters.net."

Again, just FYI.

Thank, Bob

I have all shatters.net, without the www. I've made a reference to the cookies because did appeared to me that this thread was jumped too fast in matter of cookies than required, with respect to differents issue. I do not know whether is a forum's bug or browser's lacks all this; surely it happen what we dealt with.
Never at rest.
