Extras

Hi All,

Mery Christmas and Happy 2003 !

A lot of very good extras extras are now available for Celestia,
but if you have all extras installed, you have quickly a small
visual kaos.

Any know if a function exist to disable or enable extras
without re-start Celestia ?

dont know if this is what you're looking for, but i just added another folder called Optional Data and threw all the extras that were memory hogs ( like Tom G's Irridium satellite files) and leave them there. When i wish to explore the beauty of the Irridium constelation, i just copy the scc. file and paste it in the extras again. as long as you leave all the textures in place, no problems.

I use Celestia in same way. I have added a folder with all the extra .scc files and when I would like to see one, I copy that in extras folder and re-start Celestia to see.

My question, is about if, any know how to do this, without re-start Celestia.

I think, this is not possible because the .scc as charged in memory when Celestia start...

As I recall, Chris mentioned in another thread that reloading ssc files at runtime is on his own wishlist for a future release of Celestia. Maybe we can hope for it to show up in 1.2.6.
