InfoText or equivalent?

Hi folx,
I am wondering if a text feature has been added to Celestia (I am a fairly new user). I want to be able to add details about the planets. Is there a way to do this? I have Celestia 1.5 patch 3.

Thanks,

Wayne

Hi Wayne,

The 'Lua Edu Tools', which is an addon for Celestia 1.5, includes the InfoText/InfoImage feature. Please have a look at: http://celestiaproject.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10352

Then, what is "Celestia 1.5 patch 3" ? I'm not aware of the existence of such a patched version for Celestia 1.5. Is it a patched version for Linux ?

Vincent,

I suspect he means "prerelease 3".

Vincent,

I assume he wants to say "Celestia 1.5.0pre3", no?

Yes, prerelease 3. Did I mention I'm a noob?

Thanks for the replies! I will try to install these tools.

I teach astronomy and am embarrassed I didn't know about Celestia until last summer. It is the coolest software I've seen in a very long time.

Thanks again,
Wayne

OK, Selden and Ulrich were right.

You're welcome Wayne.
You might want to use the following executable (instead of the default celestia.exe file provided with Celestia-1.5pre3) in order to enjoy the latest added features: http://vincent.gian.club.fr/celestia/ce ... .5_CVS.exe
