Haven't had a problem. Have you emailed the Motherlode directly?

i have sent off an email telling them the problem, in the mean time..heres what the error message says exactly:

Transfer channel can't be opened. Reason: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

Hmm... Well, there is only one person working on Motherlode items right now, and he is very busy with other items. It might take a couple of days (or more) before he responds to the email.

I'd wait a day or two and try the upload again. If it still fails, give it another couple of days. Slow, I know, but like I said, the guy is one extremely busy lad, and his work at the Motherlode is strictly volunteer.

hi. The Motherlode is not the problem. The website uses a public server called ibiblio.org. If there is a connection problem, it is with ibiblio.org, not the motherlode.

I once got the same message and it turned out to be my ftp software. In other words, it was a problem on my end.

Go to the internet and download an ftp program called Core FTP. It is free and works like a charm in both uploads and downloads from ibiblio.org and the motherlode. You can find the program here:

http://www.coreftp.com/

Regards

Frank

It's been over a year or so now, but I did have some problems with FileZilla. I think I had to disable the keep alive setting to upload large files. With keep alive setting on it would establish a connection and it would die half way though the upload. The keep alive setting should not stop you from establishing the initial connection though.
