Ah! You must have an original F series then? I got mine, an F2S, in 1976. It's been "through the mill" and it still works like a champ.

Yes... I've an F, can't remember date... an F2AS and a Nikkormat FTn although my first was a Nikkormat FS. All working fine.

Nice, Fridger! I especially like the cat!

Here's one of our, named Rama, apparently thinking he is more sneaky than he really is:

That one is great, and clearly reflects the 'cat-loving' photographer.
As I wrote above that cat was not our "Tiger", just passing by from some neighbor's house. In fact my sympathies for cats are quite low (sorry)...I am rather a 'dog-lover'. Yet with our kind of life, any animals are out of the question anyway.

I had a really big dog (British Bobtail) when I was a kid.

Ah, well, if dogs are your thing (and any excuse for me to post pictures!)....

http://www.flickr.com/photos/maastrichi ... 044709211/ -- Jake, now gone for the past two years. A great dog.

And here is our current pooch, a lopsided little girl named Vera - http://www.flickr.com/photos/maastrichi ... 024775022/

And here, it is evident that she loves cats as well! http://www.flickr.com/photos/maastrichi ... 024775022/

I've visited Insel Hombroich (near D??sseldorf) recently. Really a great spot where nature, art and architecture meet in a very pleasing manner.

I've posted a few pictures from my visit on my Flickr account:

Thanks Chris :)

It (Illumination) is one of my personal favorites as well.

We were having dinner in the shadow in the corner of a small village square near Cologne. While the sun was setting, it shed is light over some of the blossoming fruit trees in the middle of the square. As you can see the leaves and blooms are all translucent and feeling very fragile and 'alive'.

It gave me a feeling of great respect for the power and at the same time for the fragility of nature.

By nostalgia, I scanned few pictures I made in Amorgos (Greek island) :

A nice rainbow I captured yesterday, in front of my windows. It was a complete 180?° arc :

'Scuse the bad pictures, but here we see Cham's rainbow has moved to West Yorkshire this evening!

I don't know what's rarer these days - the rainbow or the few rays of sunshine that we had

The picture was taken from my back garden looking out onto fields which have been allowed to grow wild :D
I'm sure there's a pheasant around somewhere, and I hope it eventually pays a visit to the garden.

Meanwhile this cheeky young robin comes up to the doorstep looking for cheese

But it better watch out for the Sparrowhawk !

Those are nice shots also, I enjoy a bit of birdwatching myself. We've many hawks about here, Red-Tailed hawks in particular. Whenever I see one circling I try to take a moment to observe it, watching for its dive upon prey... when they tuck and swoop they really move fast!

Rainbows. I'm wondering if anyone here has seen a 'double' rainbow? I have (twice actually). One large distinct bow, with a second seperate smaller distinct bow beneath it - completely encompassed by the outer bow. Quite beautiful. Unfortunately I've never caught one with a camera.

The second rainbow is almost visible, on the left part of my picture above. It didn't lasted long, and the time I took the picture, it almost vanished completely.

Yes, now that you've mentioned it, I think I can see it... it touches down right on top of the building on the left, very very faint. I'd never have noticed that had you not pointed it out!

I've got this shot from several weeks ago, over on my Flickr account

I wish I could have fit the entire apparition within the camera's lens. It was absolutely spectacular.

Trashing some files tonight, I came over this one, taken some time ago, a micro hopper on the edge of a glass in my kitchen... Was the first time I meet one as small as this... (body ~2mm) 8O
