star cluster generator

Post #1by the bluemarble guy » 03.07.2007, 03:18

what happened to that star cluster genertor that used to be around. i remember that it also generated some stars with planets. I think it was selden, but I cant be sure. Im just interested in finding it again.

Also, it would be cool to see if it could be updated as well.

If anyone knows where it is, can they point me towards it.

I think you might be remembering either Rassilon's cluster generator, which is in
http://www.celestiaproject.net/~rassilon/

or Brons' StarGen, which is available at
http://www.eldacur.com/~brons/NerdCorne ... arGen.html

Rassilon??s cluster generator don??t work in Celestia 1.5.0.At least, putting M4 in Extras, the program don??t recognize it.Since M4 is the same kind of the globular clusters generated by Rassilon??s,the addon in itself wouldn??t work.I will try the Star Gen later.
But I think the several addons should be updated to Celestia 1.5.0!

Daniel,

You will need to contact Rassilon and persuade him to work on it.

I didn't realize that you had a cluster generator. I'll have to play with it. I *do* miss your online atmosphere generator, though... ;)

Dollan,

Im getting a new server sorted and as soon as I do you will be the first to have again the atmosphere generator...

There was an offline one created but sadly its only windows based...

Hi Rass...

Oh, I use the older Windows-based one quite often! I just preferred the new one because it was easier to play with the parameters, and because it had a sunset slot.

I'll look forward to its return, and the return of your site!
