Gliese 229 system

Post #1by praesepe » 10.12.2002, 20:57

Well, here's my last addition to Celestia, the Gliese 229 system, composed by a little red dwarf and a warm brown dwarf that orbits it from the far distance. I also included some fictional moons (planning to add some more, maybe asteroid-like). Here are some screenshots :)

New brown dwarf texture:

They look great!
Will you be making the .ssc and textures available?

Every time I try to access either
http://www.la-guarida.com/Celestia/Image/
or
http://www.la-guarida.com/Celestia/

I get "no se ha encontrado la p?gina" from
http://personales.ya.com/error/error.html
while http://www.la-guarida.com/ is blank :(

http://www.la-guarida.com is a domain that i have bought recently and for now, i don't have any webpage hosted on it, i will work on a new one to make mi add-ons easier to find.

New system update, a fictional semifrosted world orbiting Gliese 229 B; this new texture also includes a bumpmap to make sense of deep valleys, dust and scratches on the iced areas.

Here are the shots:

As usual, comments and suggestions are welcome

Thanks!

Yep, they're redish due to the light reflection of the little red dwarf, the original textures are not so red :P

Well, i am still working on the Europa texture(i never leave my projects abandoned); the thing is that it's made of a mosaic from several images of the Voyager probes, but not all of them are in the same resolution, so i am trying to find some more to fill in the gaps, such as doing some cloning and hand-made artwork, so be patient :P

The Gliese 229 system will be ready very soon (only needs some adjustments), may be in the coming days

About Io: Ooops! i hadn't noticed of that horrible black line 8O (these are the consequences of fast editint LOL); the bug has been fixed, check the new file here:

Your great volcanic moon

Hi. Your red volcanic moon and red dwarf are just what I have been looking for for use in my astronomy class (see my post in this forum about the primitive earth). However, I have been unable to connect to the website you've posted. I also just get an error message in Spanish. PLEASE tell me how to access your site, or provide another place I can download your great textures? Thanks.
