You should write a compilation of some or most of of the add-ons, preferably as a self-extracting archive. Users shouldn't have to go through and choose from all the millions of separate files at the Motherload server.
You should understand what is good for the Celestia, not for your pleasure. It should be objective and have an integrity of context, for example no fiction and reality on a same theme, and Earth textures only once. You can make a partial mod covering only stars or galaxies or try to create a thorough mod covering everything.
Thank you.

The creation of a combo-mod

If you want such a compilation or collection of compilations, you are going to have to be the one who creates it.
The compilation that you would like is not the compilation that someone else would like.
If you're talking about providing a compilation on a physical medium which you would distribute, don't forget that you have to get permission from all of the authors of all of the Addons that would be included in such a compilation.

Please note that add-ons are formally unrelated to the Celestia development team. They are entirely a user effort. The quality of add-ons is unsatisfactory in many cases or worse, add-ons are often not even upgraded to cooperate with the current Celestia core development.
Personally, I would only want to select little of the material available on the motherlode for such reasons... . I have at the most downloaded files from there to hunt for such reported bugs which often costs a lot of time.
For quality have a look at CelestialMatters

I don??t understand who you are addressing here. The developers? The users? Me?
I am sure the devs have better things to do than compiling other peoples dreams. The users will never agree on a common set of Add-Ons. I am busy creating add-ons i like.
Maybe you have the time and bandwidth to do this... If so, please go ahead.
