Ask for advice and express problems about Celestia

Post #1by Teemu Ruskeepää » 13.06.2007, 14:01

Write all inquiries and reports of dysfunction about Celestia here, and nothing but here to make Shatters.net less chaotic.

My first comment is that I don't seem to be able to move. I press "A" to increase speed but nothing moves. I press "L" to increase time but only planets move. I just installed this version from http://www.celestiaproject.net/celestia . Is this a bug or do I have to press something else?

Teemu,

you should notice a motion after holding down the "A" key a few seconds. Your current speed is displayed in the left corner.
There are some more keyboard controls of your motion in space, you can find them in the Help menu (select "Controls", see section "Spaceflight"). If you hit the F4 key for example, you will instantly move with the speed of light.
About objects: Planets, moons, asteroids, comets and spacecraft are moving. Galaxies and (single) stars are not. In binary star systems the revolution of the stars around their barycenter is modelled.
Enjoy Celestia and stay tuned, the forums are full of useful information!

Bye
Andy
