portable celestia

Since I like Celestia very much I also like to show Celestia to other people.
One of the disadvantages in doing so, is that I would have to install Celestia on their computer, just to show its look & feel.

Since the era of memory sticks has been started a new kind of software can be found namely ?€?portable software?€

Yep, it works very well.
I run it off an USB2 hard drive which is faster than a stick ... and has a much larger capacity.
Very small form factor usb hardrives take their power directly from the usb port too.

Is it possible create a "portable celestia " 1.5.0 for Linux ?
On my computer, I??m running Mandriva 2007.1 Free and I have not internet connection so a " portable celestia 1.5.0 " package with all libraries inside would be a excellent solution to avoid the " dependency hell "

Apperently Celestia does not* do anything crucial to the operating system, accept maybe file-association.

Unlike most Windows software in use these days, this is an aspect of Celestia I greatly appreciate!

(* pardon my correction  :D )

A " Portable Celestia " for linux ( celestia 1.5-tar.gz ) would have the following installation method :
tar celestia 1.5-tar.gz /home/celestia
cd /home/celestia
./celestia or
./celestia.sh
For me , it??s a better solution than the existing celestia.package

Example : XaraExtreme for Linux ( a vectorial graphic drawing application )
