CVS

Post #1by cartrite » 01.05.2007, 15:06

Its been awhile since I've been online. Currently at work. Tried to downdload CVS with Tortise and I can't connect to sourceforge.
Just wondering if I missed something in the last 6 months. Should have my home computer online this weekend.

Really, you didn't missed anything new since the last 6 months, except many new bugs and few *non-working* new features...

They changed naming conventions some time ago.

I use cvs under Cygwin, but others should be similar.

Code: Select all

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@celestia.cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/celestia checkout celestia

p.s. there are lots of new features, but some things don't display well under MacOS, which is why Cham is upset.

I'm suspecting that the laptop I'm using at work has some kind of block on it or something. Guess I'll have to wait til Saturday til I get Internet access again on my home box. I'm using the newer address already so!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyhow have a good one. Be back soon.

It's unrealistic to ever expect new (or existing) features to work perfectly in CVS or a pre-release, at all times or under all circumstances.
The purpose of CVS is development so inevitably will *break* functionality from time to time.
The purpose of a pre-release is to provide a **relatively** stable, but imperfect build in order to allow those who don't have the ability to make their own build, to contribute feedback in order to perfect the final release. Patience...

There was something wrong with the laptop I use at work. My home computer has no problems getting cvs. Mysteries of life I guess?
Anyhow, I was wondering if there is still a need for a win cvs version that some users can use to test the newest code that can't build it themselves?
The version I have on my website is from oct 2006. I'm still retraining myself and trying to remember things I've seem to forgotten but the setup installer I created with the ISS file from the newest cvs seems to be working correctly.
