Help - "Info" item (solved)

Hi, I've been using Celestia for a week or so and am close to being obsessed with it...thanks for such a wonderful program!

I am having a problem though. The "Info" option in the context menu of a selected object does not work for me. I could have sworn it used to open up a webpage about the object (I only tried it once).

But now clicking this item has no effect at all. I have even tried uninstall - reinstall. Can anyone tell me if there is something wrong?

Thanks.

Celestia 1.4.1
Windows XP SP2

Info should invoke your default browser.

Which browser is your default?
IE6? IE7? Firefox?

I just discovered that it doesn't work on my WinXP system, either. IE7 is my system's default browser, although I usually use Firefox. I'm wondering if Microsoft broke something recently...

Ouch.

They've certainly changed something.
Firefox v2.0.0.3 and IE7 both think they're the default browser, although that's obviously wrong.

Someone with more knowledge about registry entries than I am will have to figure out why that is...

"Help and Support" invokes IE7, so I suspect that IE7 actually is the default.

In fact IE7 was not set to be my default.
After I went through the manual procedure to make IE7 the default, Celestia's Link menu item started working again. Apparently the breakage on my system is in Firefox.

I think this procedure should work for both IE6 & IE7:

Start IE
Select the Tools menu
Select "Internet Options"
Select the Programs tab
Select (check mark) "tell me if IE is not the default browser"
Select the "Make Default" button.
It'll be greyed out if IE is the default.

Thanks for your pointers, the problem is sorted out now.

My browser of choice is Opera, so I followed the equivilent steps in Opera to set that as my default browser.

I'm still a little confused since Opera has always been my default browser, and only Celestia was having trouble figuring that out, but at least it's solved now :)

Thanks again.
