Clashing textures?

Post #1by Aphyle2007 » 04.04.2007, 16:12

I've been combing the forums looking for anyone with a similar problem to mine, or a possible solution, without success. Basically, SOME alternate textures give me very weird views, such as here:

When I zoom in, one texture fades and I get good close images, but otherwise the image appears like a badly tuned color TV.

It is very strange, as I cannot find a consistent pattern of which textures will do this, and I am presuming that how I have the file structure set up is causing some sort of conflict between textures, i.e. having textures invoked from two different files, or something. Any solutions? I am sure that there is something very minor I am overlooking or have changed and forgotten.

I have a MacBook Pro with 2 GB RAM and OS 10.4.9, using Celestia-ED, version 1.4.2.

Thanks in advance!

Eric

What is your graphic card (Ati or Nvidia ?) ?
You may have an old/buggy driver of your graphic card and you must install a new one from the manufacturer graphic card (Ati or Nvidia or other).

Have already update your drivers ?
If no, you go to: http://ati.amd.com to find the driver for MacOsx.

Right now, they don't seem to have a separate driver for the x1600 listed. I'll check the Apple site.
