Missing Menu Items

Post #1by richardgundersen » 14.03.2007, 23:20

Hi

Newbie question I'm sure, but the Capture Movie and Save Bookmark menu options discussed in the docs seem to be missing. I'm using 1.4.1 on Ubuntu 6.10 with Gnome.

Are they really missing or are they context sensitive somehow? Any help would be great because I'd love to make a movie to show off this amazing piece of software.

Thanks

Richard

Movie capture has been added to the Gnome and KDE versions, you'll have to build from CVS to get it though.

Bookmarks have been available under KDE since the first versions, I'm not sure what the status is in Gnome.

Hi

Thanks for the reply. I'll have a go at building it from CVS now.

Thanks

Is there supposed to be a configure script in the CVS download? I've got a makefile, but no configure, which I'll need to get it set up with Gnome.

Thanks again

No, there is no configure script in CVS, you have to build it with "make -f Makefile.cvs". You must have automake and autoconf installed.

Unfortunately, the Gnome version does not provide a bookmark feature. And I really miss that one... Pat?

Got the CVS version built finally. It worked great, although I had to run configure with --enable-theora, which I forgot to do the first time.

Now all I have to do is work out which codecs I need to actually watch the movies. Got seemingly every codec installed I can find. But, that's an Ubuntu question for another day and another forum.. :)

Thanks for everyone's help!
