Recording Video in Celestia

Post #1by Ajax0407 » 09.03.2007, 17:14

Is there anyway to get Celestia to record video clips in a larger resolution that 740*560? Only I need to use video clips that can be enlarged to the whole screen without distorting. Is there anyway to edit the programming or any patch?

Thanks

Ajax,

The Windows version of Celestia generates video files which are intended to be compatible with broadcast and DVD video standards, not with computer screen standards.

I agree that it would be nice if there were more options available -- including HD compatible settings.

There are programs out there that you can use to specify the area of the screen you wish to record. Find one, download it, and have fun.
Current Setup:
Windows 7 64 bit. Celestia 1.6.0.
AMD Athlon Processor, 1.6 Ghz, 3 Gb RAM
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics

The FRAPS website says it works in "games using DirectX or OpenGL graphic technology". Does Celestia fall into this category?

If so thanks for the link! :D
