Hi all,
I am relatively new to Celestia but am getting the hang of it! I want to use it to display my spacecraft trajectories that I compute with my own code..
I managed to do this and it looks quite cool.
I have one question though, is it possible to display the trajectory as it develops with time instead of the entire orbit instantaneously? Such that the the red line develops as time goed by?
Hope anyone can help me...
Many Thanks,
k.
User generated spacecraft trajectory display
Not sure were it is in the manual but I believe you can have a date/time start and stop for the launch and orbit. Then you just run the time at whatever you wish Keys (j, k and l) and watch the trajectory evolve over time.
I noticed this on the Cassini craft. Ifs you roll back the time to the beginning of the launch you can fly with the craft out to Saturn. Use several view looking at the event from far away and with the craft, etc. COOL

Don't know anything
thanks Don for your reply.. I'm not sure if I get what you mean. I know that I can follow a certain spacecraft with time during it's transfer. Celestia puts the little square around it and it follows it as time passes.
However, what I would like to see/try is that the red line showing the spacecraft trajectory stops at the current position of the sc with respect to the current time. That is, as time passes one sees the trajectory develop with the real time position of the sc being the end of it..
This would really make my day!
