Your files have been added to http://celestia.teyssier.org/i18n/, and I've commited the updated pt.po

In the future, when updating the translation, please work from the pt.po file from CVS or from http://celestia.teyssier.org/i18n/, I sometime tweak or correct them.

Those entries are standard entries, they are already translated by KDE. All you have to do is install kde-i18n-pt.

I have that package installed, latest version, still I get the said entries in english.

How will the users be able to have the translated versions of the .cel scripts installed? When will this translation be included in the installer files both for windows/linux and mac?

I forgot... the links @ celestia i18n for the other files in pt don't work.

And do other KDE application display menus in Portuguese? Have you set the country & language in the control center?

What does the following command return?
strace -f -e open ./celestia 2>&1 | grep kio.mo

Those files aren't in the repository yet, eventually they will be. But first the sources have to be reorganized so that we don't end up with dozens of localized text files in the root folder.

If that hasn't been done by the time of the 1.5.0 release, this could still be done by the packagers.

Nope

Have you set the country & language in the control center?

The language is set to pt. I can't find anything about the country

What does the following command return?
Quote:
strace -f -e open ./celestia 2>&1 | grep kio.mo

Nothing at all.

In kcontrol, go to Regional & Accessibility, Country/Region & Language. You'll be able to set the country and language.

It doesn't matter, you can still launch KDE's control center: kcontrol

Hi,

I haven't had the time to test further in linux (the linux box is taking a sun bath to kill the fungus from the power unit 8O ).

I'm trying to test drive the translation under windows but I haven't manage to start celestia in pt. I've installed the latest CVS from the link you gave me, I've unzipped the file you sent me into Celestia folder, and tried to type "SET LANG=PT" in the command line, and then started up celestia. Where am I failing?

Thanks
