In a word NO!
I don't care if you have 4 3Ghz Xeons and a tarebyte of RAM. You are still not going to get those textures to work. The problem is that you still don't get that its your video card that has to do the work. You are going to need a video card with a minimum of 256megs of VRAM and since there isn't one VNidia on the market yet that comes with that much VRAM your out of luck. You could try moving to a Matrox Perhilia or an ATI Radeon 9700 but you will loose bumpmaping and spectural lighting efects. Even if you convert them to highly compressed .jpgs you still won't have enough headroom. Your system may have enough memory to proccess the images together and to resize them but your video card just can't handle something that big. Save your time and hard drive space and live with the 16k textures. The rest of us can live them why can't you. Beside the 16k texture is based on this massive thing.

Got the peaces and...well...my...system...is...crawling, wile I put them together.

I get the picture, if I get it into celestia it will take an hour to load.

well I could try to mack the textures apear only when I get realy close to Earth, then I wouldent haketo put the peaces together and I could get rely close to the earth, I think this idea is on the fourm somewhere els I will post sompthing els thear.
