Blue Marble - need help

Post #1by BloodIce » 09.11.2006, 02:16

Is it possible to enable The Blue Marble texture for Earth as a default and to delete the standard one? If it is, please tell me how.

replace this definition from BMNG.ssc

Code: Select all

AltSurface "64K Blue Marble Next Generation" "Sol/Earth"
{
   Texture "BMNG.ctx"
   HazeColor [ 1 1 1 ]
   HazeDensity 0.25
   SpecularColor [ 0.5 0.5 0.55 ]
   SpecularPower 12.0
}

with this one:

Code: Select all

Modify    "Earth" "Sol"
{
   Texture "BMNG.ctx"
   HazeColor [ 1 1 1 ]
   HazeDensity 0.25
   SpecularColor [ 0.5 0.5 0.55 ]
   SpecularPower 12.0
}

Thanks for your answer SkyScraper. Actually I have a problem now - if I try to zoom at 5 000 km, my screen is turning white. It seems that just level 1 is working. Is there some explanation why. I have put BMNG folder at /extras and I have modiffied the BMNG.ssc as you told me.

it's most likely you have the same problem i had with 256MB of RAM, i had to wait few sec. for the screen to come back on, the blue marble addon demands a lot of resurces
but only if you had the same problem before the new ssc declaration i gived you shuld not afect your performance

my configuration is: 2.5Ghz Intel Celeron D, 512DDR of memory, 128MB Ati Radeon X700PRO video card, all under Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2. And big addons like the BlueMarble still reduce my frame rate big time
