Is there a reason why the FOV is limited to 34" ?
With this FOV it is very difficult to see Pluto and Charon from Earth over the time.
Beside maybe an issue with decimal precision I don't see any reason.

STRANGER FOV effects!
I've noticed an even stranger thing involving the field of view... if you put it way up (or is it down?) and go close to the earth something strange happens... first you look at the top and you see the north pole, then you scroll down to the center of the earth and see the south pole, then you scroll down to the bottom and see the north poll again. You can actuall see 2 and a half earth textures on just one side of the earth!!! what is going on??? also if you turn the FOV the other way, you can get africa to take up 95% of the earth's surface.
To whoever's having problems with textures after zooming... I can't reproduce your symptoms on my system. (256MB 500MHz P3, WinXP Pro SP1, Celestia v1.2.5pre7, Nvidia GF4 Ti4200, Detonator 40.72).
Too often texture problems have turned out to be related to bugs in the hardware drivers provided by the graphics card vendors. Please make sure you've downloaded and installed the very latest versions. If that doesn't help, please specify your hardware and software versions in detail. That may help Chris determine if there's a bug in his code.
I hope this helps a little.
