Don't be so hard on yourself. You are new and you should look at the addons that have been created over the past few years. Many of us have spent long hard hours creating what you are learning to do now. Most of us started from the same spot you are at... Keep with it and do not give up. Download addons and disect them to learn from our mistakes and create something new...

You're right. I should download the addons and disect them so I can learn from my mistakes. Anyway, I made another stc file of the quad giants. My post is Here in the Addons forum.

6 days and still no replies. :( Maybe some people are more interested in the topics other people make than I make. Here's two topics I started on.

http://www.celestiaproject.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10290 and http://www.celestiaproject.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10307

Either nobody likes to answer my questions, or is it me?

Different people have different interests.
You have to create the Addons that you find interesting.

Most of the people who visit the Celestia Web forum only read the postings as Guests: right now there are two members using the forum and 12 Guests. Only members can post a response to what you write.

As you may have noticed, though, some people here are most interested if the addons are as scientifically accurate as possible. It can be relatively easy to define stars with whatever characteristics you like. Celestia doesn't care. However, it can be very challanging to define the stars and their orbits so that they're compatible with the best current theories.

You're right - I dunno where I got the 8 solar mass limit from  ... the paper above says it's about 2.9 solar masses.

Maybe I was thinking about progenitor star mass?

Oh, I know where I got 8 solar masses from now - it's the rough maximum mass of progenitor star that you need to end up with a white dwarf. Anything more massive than that and you'll have a neutron star.

You're right. There is an 8 solar masses limit for white dwarfs. I wonder how I got my work wrong?
