It will be a while yet.

There are bugs and partially implemented features in the CVS version that probably should be fixed before a prerelease is attempted.

I agree with Selden, let the developpers take their time to debug the damn thing. There's still a lot of work to do on the code. So just be patient. It will be well worth the wait.

From what I've seen of the previews and such, I heartily agree. I can't wait to see how it runs with this new (relatively) system of mine.

If you just can't wait and you use Windows phoenix is making the latest CVS code version (updated regularly) available at his website:

just remember this isn't a complete package ,
you have to copy some files (the EXE , some DLL's, galaxy PNG's, .. ) yourself into your previous installed Celestia dir.
Normally I sort "Phoenix" build based on time and replace/add old files with the newer ones.

BUT a pre version, like the name says,is only a beta or preview version. It??s not necessary to correct all the bugs. :(
The phoenix installment is too crude and maybe is necessary to compile it...

It's good enough (for the rest of us anyway).

Just got married, hyper-busy with work...but I hope to make a Mac OS X CVS version available shortly. Maybe a couple weeks.

Thanks Cartrite ,
the only thing this installer misses to run are 2 DLL's

intl.dll and iconv.dll which can be freely downloaded at:

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?intl

and:

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?iconv

Just place them in the Celestia directory and go ...

No problem, glad that all is well?

I'll include them next time. I'm also trying to get the file list for the po directories so I can put them into the inno script too. But I speak only English so I really don't have a way to test it.

Cartrite,

Just wanted to thank you for making this link available. Playing with
the latest (and probably buggy) version of Celestia is part of the FUN
while learning about the universe.

MUCH APPRECIATED here my friend.

Thanks for the congrats guys! I forgot to add...then went on a honeymoon, got stuck in an earthquake in hawaii, came home to a family emergency (that is just now winding up)...so it might be a little longer for that CVS build. Oy!
