Bookmarks
I don't know if this is a bug or what but with the newest cvs, bookmarks that are created are no longer compatable with bookmarks created with versions prior to 09/06/2006. That is they simply don't work. For example if I run version 1.4.1 and create a bookmark, it will not work with cvs 09/16/2006. Bookmarks created with cvs version 09/16/2006 will not work with version 1.4.1 or any other version of cvs prior to 09/06/2006. This started somehere between those 2 dates. This seems to effect both KDE and Windows.

I think it's a bug
It doesn't affect just Bookmarks, but URLs, too.
There are some incompatibilities in their values in the current CVS code compared to previous versions.
One is a side effect of correcting the speed of light and the length of the light year.
Placing the Solar System's barycenter at [0,0,0] will also cause problems.
The current hope is that the final release will include a version number in the bookmarks and URLs and that Celestia will 'do the right thing' when it sees the older ones that don't include a version number.

What was wrong with it?selden wrote:One is a side effect of correcting the speed of light and the length of the light year.
I take it from this that you mean the number of km's in a light-year has changed as a result of correcting the speed of light. -- How big was the correction? I wasn't even aware it was wrong!

Yes, I've experienced this too with the CVS version. I thought it was normal, since there were some corrections to distances.
Really, I don't mind much about this, despite my hundreds of bookmarks. And I really hope the Sun will finally get its right place in the final version of 1.5.0.
