Magrathea Engine

Post #1by Christophe » 03.07.2006, 20:05

I just discovered this interesting student project.

Beside the obvious terrain simulation, it has quite a few (planned) features which would be welcome in Celestia, such as asynchronous texture loading (using OpenThread from OpenSceneGraph), clouds and weather simulation, procedural geometry and textures, vegetation... This is quite ambitious, but they seem to be on the right tracks.

There's a trailer available from their front page and you can get a demo for Windows in the media section.
