Again since this morning, the forum is getting VERY slow from my location. Other transatlantic connections continue to be fast as usual. So I am afraid shatters.net is approaching a problem again?
Anyone else?
Bye Fridger
Slow forum again
The same for me, Fridger, tenths of seconds to change page.
Hackers, once again?
No, please!
Bye

Actually the server I am using now is different from the one I used during office hours...
Bye Fridger
No, I don't think it was your server, now things are OK for me too.

I think it was mainly a problem with some large western Europe backbone either being saturated with traffic or impacted by problems at a big routing center.
It happens that at my workplace, I am sitting on a huge gigabit class global wan network and I am able to pick up a proxy (understand gateway to the outside world) from any continent.
Sometimes I get a faster connection from central Europe than from western Europe.
It depends heavily on the local time both here in western Europe and in US west coast. I mean getting out of the wan either on its East or on its West side.
Broadband traffic is increasing at such an incredible rate here - everybody want fast internet combined with voice service and hundreds of tv channels - that the infrastructure is stressed to its maximum.
