Hi John,
And one of them was me.
Really nice job.
Now this was touched up by airbrush only?
I tried something similar a while back with the rock called phoebe.
Ended up eating humble pie.
Anyhow.
I put the map in the hires folder so I can compare with shift-r/r.
I'm using the CVS version from Jan 06 with the stock textures in this 1st screenshot.
And your bumpmap in this 2nd screenshot.
Big difference.
Thanks again for letting me use your Mars texture. They didn't post the cloeup yet but mabey someday soon.

Hey John,
I too was one of them. But even with a big broadband conection it took a while. The conects were rather slow, so some Celestians may be giving up because of the slow downloads. Juat a thought.
I haven't tried the bumpmap as off yet, but llok forwards to it.

I might answer a PM or a post if its relevant to something.
Ah, never say never!!
Past texture releases, Hmm let me think about it
Thanks for your understanding.

And we're tired of hearing it. Obviously you have some video card issues, because if others can see and use it, and you can't, then it is hardly a problem with the texture.

Giorgio wrote:Thanks a lot John. Your bump map is awesome. What is your setting for elevation though? The standard 0.3 value in solarsyss makes for an almost completely flat (and dull) moon. I'm currently using 3.5.
0.3 seems to be the standard Moon BumpHeight value for Celestia before Ver. 1.4.1. I have both Ver. 1.4, and 1.4.1. In Ver. 1.4, the BumpHeight is 0.3, and in 1.4.1, the BumpHeight is (coincidentally) 3.5.
