Alternate Textures Question

Hi folks...

When using the alternate texture function, I can't get a cloud map to display. I'm attempting to show a world before and after terraforming, and the after textures are the ones including the cloud map. Now, I can get a bump and a specular texture to show, but the clouds will not.

Is this a limitation, or am I simply doing something wrong?

They're Alternate Surface Textures.
Clouds are not Surface Textures. :-(

in other words, the only way to change cloud textures is to have different textures in the lores, medres and hires folders and use r and R to switch among them.

What are the chances of an alternate cloud texture functionality being added in?

Could you define a begin/end date for your terraformed planet? I.E. don't use alt textures at all. Have a totally defined planet for a specified period of time that gets replaced as time progresses. This way you could even have stages of terraforming over a period of centuries. You could look at Frank's ssc files for primitive Earth to get an idea of how to do it.
Homebrew:
WinXP Pro SP2
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe
AMD Athlon XP 3000/333 2.16 GHz
1 GB Crucial RAM
80 GB WD SATA drive
ATI AIW 9600XT 128M

I take it the same is true for the atmosphere, yes?

Yeah, that's probably what I'll end up doing. Steve Bowers has done that as well for some of his OA worlds, too.
