Daniel, you knows Celestia for a long time: don't you follow the evolutions of the prog in http://www.shatters.net/~claurel/celestia/files/ that hosting all the versions? When you see a new one is available, have a look there and you find it!Jeam

No levels 11 and 12 in the 1.4.1pre2 too

Do you plan to include the sounds patch in a future release ?
That seems to be a plus for Celestia.

I am very happy about 1.4.1pre2 because Earth's specular map doesn't make the planet become white in the OpenGL 2.0 mode anymore. :D

Is 1.4.1 released? Source available?

I noted that there appears to be a 1.4.1 release dated the 14th in:
http://www.shatters.net/~claurel/celestia/files/
however the sourceforge site doesn't appear to be updated:
http://celestia.sourceforge.net/

I'm seeing a problem with saving images with 1.4.0 on Fedora 4
gnome build, jpegs are corrupted and choosing to save as png
cause segmentation fault. I'm willing to debug however would prefer
to only work on problems not already fixed.

Thank you,
Wiliam.

The official releases of Celestia, now including v1.4.1, are available on SourceForge at
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... p_id=21302

Chris hasn't had a chance to update Shatters yet. He spends his weekends doing other things...

I just downloaded the OSX 1.4.1 and was greeted by an incredibly cool splash screen.
Haven??t examined everything (which will take some time with the 8-9 GB or so of AddOns and maps i??m using), but it works very smoothly so far, and the new functionality is much appreciated.

To the developers: thank you, for the ton of work behind this release!

It's not mentioned in the release notes, but 1.4.1 adds back VT levels 11, 12 and fixes many of the key-press-death issues that were reported in some of the pre-releases. :)

Great to see Celestia is still moving forward, and many thanks to all involved in it's continuing improvements.
I now have 1.4.1pre1 installed and i'm wondering if there is any need for the shader file star.arb.vp which seems to be missing from the windows version ?

If I'm not wrong this shader is for futur improvement for star rendering (Chris is working on it right now) and is not used in 1.4.1...

Hi Chris...and thanks for this most wonderful software.
Yet I??m having problems that it seems nobody else is having.
Since version 140 and now with 141 I experiment constant crashes.
One of them freezes the machine and or it reboots by itself or I have to reboot it myself.

The other version of crash acts as follows...I??m navigating normally...I choose one of the minor Jupiter moons, say Metis, I go to the selection and rotating the moon sudenlly the screen gos totally black. Sometimes the image comes back, sometimes it doesn??t and I get this msg
"Runtime error abnormal program termination"
Sometimes after this window another one shows up "Instruction no
"0x7c910de3" refered to memory no "0x3f59d9d3" and cannot be read"
click ok to terminate the program."

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

The first thing to do is to upgrade to the most recent driver available for your graphics card. This usually fixes crashes like those you describe, especially if you're using the newest Render Path, OpenGL 2.0.
