Chris! A few suggestions for Celestia 125 final/126

Post #1by AlextheFirst » 04.10.2002, 19:17

1 Its time to remowe Mir from installer to addons
2 Enlarge ISS to >80m
3 Include to Installer:
Voyagers, Hektor (if it real exist;), Shorexmars, Black hole (61 cyg a),
Minormoons
Sbd could make Cassini spacecraft on its way to Saturn
Comets away from Sun shouldnt have tails
Can sbd make new model of Hubble? (Im to stupid 4 this) (solar arrays
are now smaller)
Add a function showing orbits of comets, asteroids, spacecrafts. Also,
sometimes i would like to see only one orbit - of body i have selected
Set a key-shortcut for Current time - it will be good in Locations
J think Voyagers antenas should be targeted directly into Earh.
Sorry 4 my English!
BTW: With version of Win are You using? (my is WinME)

"Which version of win?" ??

Do you always think, that if you use windows we use also Micro$hit code? :D

GNU/Linux Debian Woody here ... kernel 2.4.19 if you must know it exactly ;)

The above is Thilo's reply to a perfectly reasonable question. MOST PC users have Windows and MOST are not computer geeks. With answers like this "newbies" like myself will probably not register nor post. This is Celestia's loss, it's a program that should be on EVERRY computer!

Moving swiftly on, how about a seperate options chart for the orbits i.e. so we could select which one's we'd like to see very easily, for example comparing the orbit of Earth with asteroids or something.

Thanks for you suggestions . . .

I'm fixing the problem with comet tails . . .

Mir will remain in the default installation, but I've added (just last night) Beginning and Ending fields to .ssc object definitions. So, Mir will only be viewable when the date is between 20 Feb 1986 (launch) and 21 Mar 2001 (reentry.) Once I get better trajectories for the Voyagers, I'll probably add them to the default installation. Galaxy selection and more options for displaying orbits are both features that will appear soon in Celestia.

I wish people would not try to put down a computer/OS. There is plenty of room for Linux/UNIX, MS Windows, and the Apple OS, among others.

The idea is to be able to share information, regardless of the platform you are on.

Anyhoo, that's my rant...
