Viewing spacecraft

I recently installed the 2001 add on. And it will bring me to the ship if I wanted to. But I can't see it. Am I supposed to see it? And if yes, how?

Sounds like you've installed it correctly. If so, you should find a folder in the ...Celestia\extras directory called "2001_ships".
Open up any of the .SSC files in this folder or sub-folders with a text editor and have a look at what the Beginning date is set to.
eg:
...Celestia\extras\2001_ships\StationV\Space_Station_V.ssc

Look for something like:
Beginning "2001 01 01 12:00:00"

The Beginning year may be set to the year 2010 or 2500.
If so, you have the choice of either setting or fast-forwarding your simulation date in Celestia to a date later than the date in the files, at which point the ships will magically appear,
OR: you can edit any or all of these .SSC files to set the Beginning dates back to a date of your choice.

(Objects are not visible in Celestia outside their Beginning and Ending dates.)

I fixed it. I have to select the object and press g to get to it.
