I've had several requests to update the User's Manual to reflect 1.4.0. I've done so as far as I can go at this point, but I have a few questions before I release it to Chris and Motherlode:
As far as I can tell, the three new keystrokes appearing in 1.4.0 are:
1. ( or ) - controls galaxy brightness
2. ^ - toggles nebulae on or off (also includes a render menu box)
3. % - toggles star color tables on or off
Are there any other keys that have been bound in 1.4.0 that are new?
From a user perspective, 1.4.0 has a ton of behind-the-scene improvements in graphics, visual displays, command line options, galaxies, etc. However, are there any other new features or displays that a user can control while Celestia is open, that differ from 1.3.2? ... features that we need to teach them how to use in the User Manual? I fear I've overlooked something I don't even know about.
Thanks in advance
Frank

Yes galaxy brightness is also affected by the "[" and "]" keys along with increasing/decreasing the limiting magnitude. Same if Automag is switched on. While the "(", ")" keys allow to /increase/ galaxy brightness /independently/ of the star brightness with the "[","]" keys this is coupled to that of the stars.

I just added these to:
- CelestiaKeyAssignments.txt
- controls.txt
- KbdMouseJoyControls.txt
Is there any reason why we have three files for this?
