Actually, Japan churns out a mixed bag of anime - on one hand they produce the most intelligent cartoons around (Serial Experiments Lain, or the Ghost in the Shell movies and series, for example). On the other hand they do also churn out some that aren't so much "stupid" as just plain incomprehensible (and I don't mean because of the language. I just don't understand what the heck is going on in them) - though most of those ones are there to support toy lines like Beyblade or Yu-Gi-Oh or something.

Plus the more mature japanese cartoons you usually see on TV are either hacked to bits for the american audience (because western TV executives still think that cartoons are only for kids) or horribly dubbed into English.

meh. i just dont like how unrealistic the cartoons are.

So instead you get off to Halo?

You know, that's completely realistic.

There are different styles of anime, you know.

But halo isn't anime. It involves aliens too. Grunts are cool. Its more likely and realistic if we were to fight religious aliens instead of having little animals inside balls, or have monsters on the face of cards kill eachother.

Like I said, you clearly haven't watched any good anime. There's a lot more to it than pokemon or Yugioh or whatever.

And Grunts are just silly. Little squeaky stumpy comedy guys who can't shoot to save their lives and panic at the first sign of trouble are the front line of an alien invasion? Riiiiiight.

Sure, Halo is more intelligent than your average Japanese' kids cartoon (which again is nothing like the more mature anime), but that doesn't make it particularly special.

Grunts are still cool though.

HEY!

Pok?©mon was extremely cool awhile ago (and still is in some parts) and when it was in full swing of popularity I was one of the biggest fans!

Never was a fan of Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh really though.

I think all Japanese cartoons are good, no matter how silly. Real or unreal. I watch both One Piece and Ghost In The Shel, along with Inuyasha and Cowboy Bebop. They're all good. The Pok?©mon gameboy games are still good too. Still pretty dang intertaining (besides, I'm not gonna let 200+ hours of trying to catch all the little dudes goto waste.)

And on the not liking bad grammar and stuff thing, in ANYTHING has no periods or sentence structure, I skip it, do not read, and post that it needs to be rewritten or no one at all will read since it is impossible to read. And don't say all teens are bad writers, I'm 14 and use good grammar and spelling (was the best 7th grade speller last year in my school, woulda been one of the top 3 had htey not given the dang french word quiche [pronounced "keesh", which is how I thought it was spelled]).
Pi does not equal 3.14159265, it equals "yum!"

A world without Monty Python, gnomes, news crews that make a big deal out of a celebrity breathing, Star Trek, & Coca-Cola? That is impossible! IMPOSSIBLE!
