South Pole WEB camera back, beautiful sunshine down there

After some Celestian's had been watching the South Pole life and weather for almost one year (with half a year of total darkness...) here we are again, in beautiful everyday sunshine :

I guess after months of darkness this looks good :roll: BUT it doen't to me. Don't get me wrong I like the picture for comp/color/mood but like flying around to universe in Celestia we forget how foreign and unfriendly the envirorment is out there once off the warmer regions of this ball.

It's not THAT bad...I know quite a few colleagues who worked at the South Pole station for a while.

Well the whole point of these images is to demonstrate that the SouthPole is NOT always most hostile. The women "congregation" illustrates that even very light clothing may be possible for a VERY SHORT while ;-)
