making an add-on

Post #1by andrew2364 » 29.10.2005, 18:36

I have some good black hole candidate data and thought I would have a go at making an add on. What I want to know is, that as none of these stars are recognized by celestia, how do I rectify this. Is there a program or method I can use to turn my data into usable files.

thanks.

You need to read the documentation on the catalog files: DSC (Deep Space Catalog), STC (STar Catalog) and SSC (Solar System Catalog).

One place to start is the documentation page on the Motherlode.

Also make sure you look at Cham's great work. Just do a search. Tips: always use png's for textures and watch how you nest models, they have a tendency of canceling each other in the weirdest ways...
