Successful OS X Build of Celestia-1.4.0pre-FT1? Anyone?

Post #1by BlindedByTheLight » 04.10.2005, 02:02

I had posted this in Fridger's main Celestia 1.40pre-FT1 thread but was worried it had gotten lost in the avalanche. In any case...

...anyone having any luck compiling this puppy on OS X? On 10.4.2, using Xcode 2.1, I got these 4 errors almost immediately...

Thoughts?

Steven,

I didn't encounter those particular errors building FT1 with XCode 1.5 on Mac OS X 10.3.

Hank, no way to give to Steven a link to add in his download center (as the last Dirkpitt buid)?

Hmm... anything particular you did to build it - or just hit build?

The new source files had to be added to the project and there were a few errors to work around due to changes in the code for deep sky objects.

Unfortunately, I have no way to provide a link. Perhaps dirkpitt can do so. If not, I can make a copy available if someone can provide a place to host it. But it might be best to wait for FT1.1 at this point.

Once FT1.1 is out and builds correctly for OS-X we might consider putting the OS-X code into a common directory on Chris' machine ;-) where the other FT1.1 stuff is, too, and I have write access.

Then one could simply make the URL for that directory available in a sticky post...

Whatever you guys decide is fine by me. I can also host some files. Mostly, though, I was just attempting to learn how to build the OS X version myself - for a trinity of reasons (for the knowledge, to contribute, and to save others the work)...
