I have installed the beautiful Johan Hevelius' Constellations add-on by Jestr http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/catalog/show_addon_details.php?addon_id=834 on my Linux box with Celestia 1.3.2, but I can't see the Uranographia images. Is the add-on supposed to work with Celestia 1.3.2?
I have unpacked the HeveliusConstellations_DDS.zip archive in the extras directory of my Celestia installation, checked that the files/directories have appropriate read/access permissions, and turned on Render -> View Options... -> Show Galaxies. But I still can't see the images.
What am I doing wrong? Are there any other installation/usage steps I have missed?

Hevelius' Constellations addon: how to install/use?
selden wrote:What kind of graphics card do you have?
Is it new enough that it can draw DDS textures?
Have you tried one of the PNG versions?
I have an nVidia GeForxe 5600 FX Ultra with 256 KB. Other add-ons with DDS textures work fine with the same setup. I have also tried the PNG textures for the Hevelius constellations add-on, but ti doesn't work either.

Did you install one of the Educational Addons?
They replace celestia.cfg with one that disables the default Extras folder.
If so, hopefully you made a backup copy that it can be restored from.
Otherwise you can get previous versions from
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/c ... 8&view=log
Or you can edit it manually, since it's a plain-text file.

I haven't installed any Educational Addons. I did install some other addons and textures from the Motherlode, but all of them work fine and don't seem to have replaced celestia.cfg or modified the default Extras folder.
Thanks for the suggestion,

Paulo:
If you have been trying the new beta vesion of 1.4.0pre 7 (the cvs build), it contains a new control that turns on and turns off nebula. The control is [Shift + ^]. By default, nebula are turned off. You have to turn them on by pressing these keys. If you are using the new build, try press the [Shift & ^] keys together and see what happens when viewing the Hevelius add-on.
