Hey Everyone,
My internet connection is back up so I thought I would let you all know that, yes I am still around and things on my projects have progressed nicely.
One bad point though. I was going to test a new texture in Celestia and found to my shock that for some odd reason my install of XP has suddenly dumped the ability to use the higher OpenGL functions. I have tried many of my own tricks and techniques to fix it without any luck. For a while I started to suspect my graphics card was the problem. But a fresh test install of XP on an older drive proved that theory wrong thank goodness.
So I am now going to have to reinstall XP on my system from scratch. This should only take about 2 hours with all the patches it needs. So after Lost is over I will be starting the reinstall and hopefully have everything done for tomorrows or possibly tonight?€™s big uploads.
I am not saying what I am uploading but it?€™s big and has been long in waiting.
See you all tomorrow night for the official announcement.
Don.

Lost
Excellent, Don!
Are they showing the 2nd season of Lost in the USA? I saw the first one there, then I came back to Argentina and saw it again, it finished last month. Good show.
Regards,
Guillermo

Soryy Andrea,
Its not Mars at this time. Alothough I have completely recreated the texture form the new textures released by Mario at Space-Graphics.com. His newest Mars textures have an incredible amount if detail for a 16k. So I have been busy working on those as time has permited. Look for a few new pictures of the texture very soon over in the thread for it. I need to check with Mario if it is ok for me to release it. If he gives the green light, as he always does, I will release the texture ASAP.
Well back to working on my computer and to get everything ready for the big upload. It took just a little longer to get everything back to normal on my system. Not really a surprise but it is a hassle. I just found out for some reason my computer got set to the British English standard and keyboard layout. This has never happened before and I am very perplexed as to why it happened. But it took me a while to remember how to it all back to American English and kyboard layout.
Pardon any typos as I still don't have MS Word installed for proofing my writing.

Don, whatever you have done will be surely a pleasure to be used in Celestia, so I'm anxious to see it.
Regarding Mars, I know you are using Mario's textures as basis, and this is the reason of my wish to see it, because Mars is my preferred planet.
Bye soon, and thank you.
Andrea

Andrea, If you haven't already seen the post, take a look at my New Mars texture thread in the Textures section. I have a conparison shots between Mario's M46 V2 and what I did with it.

Done, give a look to my reply in that thread.

System Bios
Don,
I'm not sure if this'll help but, have you checked your Graphics settings in the System Bios to make sure they're in agreement with your graphics card and graphics memory? I had a similar problem when I installed my new NVIDEA card and was able to correct it in the BIOS. I had to tell the BIOS to use my AGP slot instead of the PCI slot and then set the memory size.

Hey Tech Sgt. Chen,
No it was an Operating system issue. Everyting was working just fine and than BAM! OpenGL just quite working. Actualy it was time for a fresh install of XP anyway. The install I had been using was over a year and a half old and had at one point gotten pretty corupted. I managed to fix it that time but this was the last straw. I had been putting off this reinstall for over a month. So it was simply time for me to start over. After the reinstall everything had been working allot better. I got rid of a bloated registry and allot of small programs that I had been trying out. This also gave me the opertunaty to go back to using WindowBlinds as my XP skining engine. Needless to say that sometimes it is better to just wipe the hard drive and start again. Hopefully I get at least another year and a half of use of this install if I don't move over to Windows Vista.
