In Celestia selet the navigation menu and them select the Goto Object menu item. This will open a pop-up windows were you can enter the name of the star you want to visit and how far you want to be from it and so on. Then simply click the GoTo button and you should be on your way.

That's strange.
It works fine for me with Celestia v1.3.2 Final with the 2M stars.dat v2.0c

Did you remember to include the space between
hd and 46375 ? Both lower case hd and upper case HD work fine, too.

I typed
[return]hd 46375[return]
and the star's name and data appeared in the upper left corner of Celestia's window. It doesn't list all the possible hd names while you're typing it in.

I then typed
g
and Celestia went to the star system, showing the planet orbiting the star. I had most of the rendering options enabled.
