ATI, Linux, Segfault.. DRI?

See this thread on the Ubuntu forums for more info relating to this.. hoping someone here might have some suggestions. Seems that something that celestia is doing is causing a segfault in the ATI DRI driver. This happens with an older driver version as well as the latest.. maybe I have a conflicting library or something somewhere, but I am kind of at a loss of where to go from here.
