Last shuttle flight ever?

Well ...it could be. looks like NASA will not ride the risk any longer. I can't blame them for pulling the plug on this.

Let's hope Discovery gets down ok...then they can look hard and fast at the program, and their so called management!

I don't want to knock NASA but they have made some big mistakes here. Credibility minus 100 city Arizona or what?

Good luck to the crew and mission...see you back on the ground!

Regards...bh.

Unfourtanetely, the end of shuttles??flight could mean that both the Hubble and ISS are doomed. And for more insecure that the shuttles are, there is no other option of a vehicle with any king of autonomy. The only think we have is capsules and this back date to a technology of 1960s.It will be a severe setback to any other Hubble??s sucessor as well because it won??t be repaired anymore.I think NASA must reconsider your decision.Otherwise, all our progress since the dcade of 80 will be lost and will be again in the space pionering??s age which would be a retrocess.

I don't think they have threw the shuttle program in the trash.

I think the shuttles need lots of maintenance. They had those shuttles for while, I think had held back on it. They have to look over the external tanks, SRB's, and the shuttles for what can be fixed.

The ISS has the other space agencies that can us get up their. I heard that NASA was trying to discuss about the problem with the others.

Well here is the site for this kind of topic,
