"Driver component sizes mis-match." Error at star

Post #1by HunterRose » 12.10.2004, 13:58

Help,

AMD Athalon 2100+ with 1024 Ram and NVIDIA GeForce4 TI 4200.

Same error everytime I try to start. If I hit OK to keep going it repeats about 7 times and then crashes to XP error reporting box.

Please help, I saw nothing in FAQs

HunterRose,

You neglected to say what error you're seeing.
If it's not in the FAQ, then it's something unusual.
Without knowing what the error is, it's hard to help :(

I too have this same problem. (The error is the title of the original post, but for those that missed it : "Driver component sizes mis-match. Retry to keep going. Cancel to exit."

Retrying just resdisplays the same dialog. It is titled "nVidia OpenGL driver"

I recently upgraded to a non-standard resolution widescreen monitor when this started happening. It runs at 1280x768 -- so I suspect this may be related. Even though this is a secondary monitor and not my primary monitor, it seems to be causing some problem. I've noticed this occurs with other OpenGL apps -- but I can't say for sure all OpenGL apps.

It seemed to work fine when I only had two 1280x1024 monitors, but when I added the 1280x768 monitor (and perhaps the new GeForce 5200 DVI card) it started complaining.
