well thats good for me, because with the help of a friend i am making a huge setup to almost "re-enact" some scenes from the movies and need the time to make all the orbital info.

Ok looking at one of these today....the first one in fact...The problem lies in the fact that the modeller used odd shaped textures...like 468 x 450...so if I were to resize these to say 512 x 512...which would work in Celestia...but would distory the texture on the model...thereby defeating the purpose...If someone wants to take on the task of remapping these to fit correctly they can....I currently dont have the time...I figured it was a matter of resize and remapping via location to Celestia/textures/medres...which isnt a problem...

UVW Mapping textures is though...Takes alot of time...so maybe later when I have a bit of time I could tackle a few of them for you...

Or better yet find some of those that use exact square textures...or ones that are rectangular but perfect...eg 412 x 824 is ok...will scale to 1024 x 512 or 512 x 256...

Sorry I didnt get to this till now...

I am also noticing that most of them are wierd sizes...These were all made for scene rendering unfortunately...One such example is the Imperial Star Destroyer...That fricken thing is well over 500,000 faces hehe it slows down my computer to 5 fps when trying to rotate the scene...Thats big

Hey, Ras-

If the UV is specified using explicit pixel coordinates as opposed to percentages of the texture size, you can resize the textures by adding a "buffer" along the right and bottom edges. Essentially changing the canvas size. It will increase the size of the texture without adding any detail, but it's the easiest way if they use explicit mapping.

Good news! I've gotten a ship to work with .jpg textures that will work with celestia's size regulations. all i need to do now is get it to read the textures from the medres folder...

Yes I can forsee that to work...but then I'm not the greatest mapper in the world either lol....

Billybob...If the total file size is under 1.5 megs email it to me or if you can post it for me to download and I can map it correctly to read from the medres folder...

Just get them to read from the medres folder and e-mail them to me here: mcdermott964@att.net (only mail me a little less than 10 meg, like around 9.8 because 10 is my limit). I'm going on vacation tomorrow, so I wont be back for a week, but when I'm back and I get them i'll take care of resizing them and converting them to jpg. Thanks soooo much!
