1st question: is it really possible to place the point of view inside of the cockpit in Celestia? And if so, how?
(Anyway it sounds pretty nice to take some pictures of earth through the sidewindows of your Atlantis).

2nd question: the model seems pretty complex, so, if the answer to question1 is negative, then, is it worth? all those poligons for the cockpit of a spaceship flying around (and quite close to) the most complex object in Celestia? Isn't it overkill?

Oh! I almost forgot the most important part: Great work 8O

Hi Giorgio,it is possible to fly through/in anything in Celestia using the 'a' and 'z' keys.Lately I have been placing transparent objects at different locations within my Stargate addons which make it easy to visit as they show up in the navigation menu.Maybe El Christou could do this,looks great inside,cheers Jestr

Right... This shot has been done using this technic...

The LongLat directive can be used to place an object at a fixed longitude, latitude and altitude. You can use it instead of an EllipticalOrbit directive.

The exact values would have to be adjusted to place it over the correct launch pad of the Cape Canaveral VT. (Sorry, I don't have the time to do that right now.)

Tx. for the info, Selden... Unforntunatly I don't have time to study the whole topic of creating ssc correctly... I will release the stack later as I also have a problem of depht sorting (this bug begin to be really boring :evil:)... here a shot to illustrate:

I was playing with Jestr technic to have a part of the model emissive, but... when time is running, it give me the usual horrible flickering :x ...
The day someone do something to fix this will be a great day...

You'll be hard pressed to find any better info on the;

It looks like the ET is jettisoned once the shuttle is in orbit. It is done safely over a large ocean....of course you could be really " :twisted: " and jettison it over your least favourite country!

I'm wondering if I leave or not the emissive part... On one hand it's really cool and much more realistic for shots, on the other the depht sorting bug appear, so it crash the effect...

Don't know about the emissive effect - it looks aright as it is.

You haven't managed to do an xyz take-off orbit by any chance ?

The emissive in the shot above is OK because time is stopped... otherwise the flickering of depht sorting is quite insufferable...

arrghhh... I pass 2 days on the simple ssc, so I will let someone else with more experience with this kind of stuff to play with the xyz path...
