Not brilliant I'm affraid, there might be enough info looking through the following;

Mission STS-30 Magellan

Mission STS-34 Galileo

Mission STS-41 Ulysses

The good news is that decent models for all three I.U.S (Inertial Upper Stage) "launch" versions of Magellan, Galileo and Ulysses are already available. I reckon just some minor detailing to the payload bay is all that is necessary.

TERRIER

The Boeing site may have some images which may help also.

Well done ElChristou, you've done a marvelous job with Atlantis, I love the detail.

ElChristou wrote:Some strange shadows on the wings when the light come from the front of the model... This is an earlier problem, so to solve it I need (perhaps) to redo the entire body...

Those "strange shadows" on the wings are just where the mesh isn't quite even. Light at a very low angle will show even the smallest amount deviation on the surface. If your soft doesn't have some kind of smoothing tool then leave it as it is. Don't go and redo the entire body again.

Great job. I can't wait to see the flight deck.

Thanks

No in fact it's no a problem of smothing... I have to much vertices in that zone, conbinated with a little plane zone at the junction between fuselage and wings... I will try to solve this with more time.

Ah, my appologies ElChristou,

I've only done a little modelling and it looked like the effect of one of "my" uneven surfaces.

My mistake, sorry.

Don't worry, there is no problem... I'm the first in notice the wrong things on models... I will try to solve all this...

That's because lettering can be modelled.

Speaking of which, do you have the Nasalization font type ElChristou ?
Very handy for doing some "retro" space shuttles.

Hello, again

Sundog point me on a little problem of vertices on the left side of the shuttle, so I fix it, and as nobody saw a little problem of normals, I fix this too... Also I have reduced the cmod file from 19,1mo to 5,7mo... So if you want, you can download again the preliminary craft...

EDIT: for the download like, see further in the Thread...

I'm now checking the Nasa sites for images for the payload bay...

Bye
