I completely agree with Selden on that point, but I think the following question is important :
"Is religion not allowed in posts AND in signature, or only in post ?
This is not an ironic question, and I'm OK to change my signature without any problem (doG oN > No God) if you can certify that no more propaganda will be done on this forum FOR or AGAINST religion.

I have to admit that any mention of religion on the forum bothers me, no matter where it is. It gets out of hand all too easily. I'm not quite ready to ban professions of faith from sigs and avatars, though.
Actual discussions, however, are not acceptable here -- this includes editing of sigs and avatars. There are plenty of other forums where such discussions are appropriate. Google is your friend.

I used to spend a few weeks on a forum about video editing. And I used to be blessed every time I read a message on that forum. I think it's a lack of repect. I don't understand what religion has to do with astronomy or video editing...
Most of the time, people who don't agree with this kind of signature are considered as intolerant... But nobody cares about people who write such signatures....
So Selden is right : there are specific forums for this kind of discussion
