creating large add-on

I just made an .ssc file for the Main Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter, and it's 91 MB large. It's taking forever to load.... any tips on adding on large files?

thanks

Upgrade your computer system to the highest performance you can afford.

Having lots of memory (1 - 3 GB of RAM) makes the most difference.

For Addons that occupy a lot of disk space, upgrade your system's disk to the fastest disk you can afford.

For Addons that include a lot of objects (like your Asteroid Addon), upgrade your CPU (which means upgrade your system's motherboard or buy a new system). Celestia has to calculate all of their locations and decide if they're in the field of view and in front of or hidden behind other objects. It has to do this every time it refreshes the screen.

For Addons that include models with lots of polygons (3DS or CMOD files larger than a few MB) get a faster graphics card

For viewing lots of Addons simultaneously, get a graphics card with 256 MB or more graphics memory.
