Hi,

This is my last release......SAN FRANCISCO!!! :D
I love this city.....and i hope to go there again, as soon as possible. :)

Hi-Res DDS (2048) VT Close-up (Level 7 to Level 11) of San Francisco Bay (USA)

Celestia 1.4.0 or later is required!

I suggest to install my Texture only AFTER you have installed this other "close-ups" add-ons:
+ "USA: California " by Jdou (special thanks to You  )

This is a very beautiful addon! :) I had great fun flying around it. The only problem I found was that when you get very low, the Golden Gate bridge looks very weird, as if it has fallen over. I wonder if there is a 3-d model of the bridge that could be used alongside this texture?

I have a 3ds model but the texture would have to be edited to remove the bridge, and we also need some cliffs either side,or the road is just hanging in mid air,Jestr

Thank You :D

I understand what you mean, but unfortunately this is only a plain texture, a satellite picture. :(
This is "only" a level 11 and if You "get very low" the limit of the texture will be evident.

wow, the *great* jestr....nice to meet you

No problem to edit the texture......in a few seconds the bridge can disappear.
But....my texture is only a "level11" and works fine until 8 or 9 Km from the surface......supposing to put a 3D bridge on this texture: if You go very close to the bridge it will appear "perfect" but the texture will become very "ugly".....i think You need a "level12" texture for this work.

This is only my opinion......i hope You can understand my terrible english.

Which version of VT Earth are you using to overlay this texture onto? Is it Blue Marble DDS or some other texture/version?

My fovourite earth surface VT for Celestia is:

64K Jestr Earth Mark II (VT/DDS)

But to overlay this texture i've used the jdou's "USA: CALIFORNIA" VT (USA_California_Alta_L5-7_BM32k.zip)........if Yor read my installation note you can see:

Installation:

-Install on "64K Jestr Earth Mark II (VT/DDS)" or similar

-I suggest to install my Texture only AFTER you have installed this other "close-ups" add-ons:

+ "USA: California " by Jdou
